Mera

Mera was born into the royal family of Xebel, a separatist colony of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. Like all Atlanteans, she possessed great strength, durability, speed and amphibious breathing. But the Xebelian royal family also boasted a generic gift, the power to create “hard water” constructs out of any nearby water source and Mera was the most powerful aquakinetic ever measured.

She was given the mission to use her great power to kill Aquaman, the king of Xebel’s ancient enemy Atlantis. But when she found Aquaman rescuing wounded whales, she was impressed by his kindness and bravery. Choosing to observe him before striking, she eventually fell in love with him. Renouncing her home, she ultimately married Aquaman and became Atlantis’s Queen.
