PUBG CHAMPIONS LEAGUE START DATE REVEALED

The PUBG Champions League (PCL) is back with a bang for its sixth season, set to kick off from April 20th to May 11th, 2024. This eagerly anticipated event will see 17 teams battling it out for the prestigious title. With a hefty prize pool totaling 3 million RMB (€386,115.42), the stakes are higher than ever, with 2.9 million RMB earmarked for playoffs, and an additional 50,000 RMB each for the MVP and the War God award winners. The tournament format will consist of both a regular season and playoffs, employing a points-based ranking system.

Regular Season (April 20th to May 5th) The regular season will witness the 24 PCL clubs divided evenly into three groups: A, B, and C. Each group will undergo five rounds of single round-robin matches, featuring three match days per round and six matches per match day. Following the initial phase, subsequent round-robin groupings will be determined in a snake format based on the points ranking from the previous cycle. The schedule for the regular season round-robin matches is as follows:

  • Day 1: Group A VS Group B
  • Day 2: Group A VS Group C
  • Day 3: Group B VS Group C

Once the regular season concludes, the top 16 teams will progress to the playoff stage. The map rotation for the playoffs will be: Erangel, Erangel, Taego, Vikendi, Miramar, Miramar.

Playoffs (May 9th to 11th) The playoffs will comprise three rounds of intense competition, with six matches per round, totaling 18 matches. Teams will accumulate match points after each match, and final rankings will be determined based on the cumulative match points earned throughout this phase. The map rotation for the playoffs is as follows:

  • Day 1: Erangel, Erangel, Taego, Vikendi, Miramar, Miramar
  • Day 2: Miramar, Miramar, Vikendi, Taego, Erangel, Erangel
  • Day 3: Erangel, Erangel, Taego, Vikendi, Miramar, Miramar

Despite the excitement surrounding the tournament, some Chinese fans have expressed concerns about the tight schedule and the brevity of the split.

Spring Tournament Promotion and Demotion Rules Global Partner teams (GPT) will secure direct entry to PGS (PUBG Global Series) 3 and 4, with the two highest-ranked teams also advancing to these prestigious events. Following the conclusion of the Spring Tournament, the bottom-ranked teams will be relegated to PCLP.

During the PCL team meeting, it was confirmed that both PGS3 and PGS4 would take place in China in May and June, respectively, adding to the anticipation surrounding the PUBG esports scene.
